UnionRobert EmmetWednesday, January 8, 1817

Rosina Hubley, youngest daughter of Adam and Lydia (Field) Hubley, was born in Lancaster, PA in May of 1792 and married Robert (2) Emmet there on Jan. 8, 1817. Rosina's father, Col. Adam Hubley of Lancaster, PA, an aide to Gen. George Washington and "a distinguished officer," died in 1798 when she and her two sisters were quite young; their mother, Lydia remarried and the three girls spent time with Lydia's sister, Mary Field who had married Richard Stockton, the son of "The Signer" of the Declaration of Independence.

This relationship is probably the reason why Robert and Rosina named a son Richard Stockton. Rosina's older sister Mary Field Hubley married a William Jenkins, so another son was given his name; in return, Mary (Hubley) Jenkins named one of her sons Robert Emmet Jenkins. Rosina died in New Rochelle on June 1, 1849.
