Rosa Jane Emmet

Rosa (35) Jane Emmet was the second daughter and eighth child of Anna (Tom) and Thomas (6) Addis Emmet. She was born in New York in May of 1839, probably at the Emmet's city house at 24 University Place, and she died of typhoid fever there in July of 1853 at the age of 14. She was the first of the children to die and thus the first to be buried in Vault #148 which her father had purchased in the NYC Marble Cemetery not long after it was opened in 1832.
